My mother gave me my first journal when I was 6 years old.
She told me to try and write in it every day and that I would understand it's importance when I was older. I wrote about stickers and class pets and the first time I got detention. My topics widened a bit as I got older. My journals sustained me through some of the most challenging periods of my life.
Self expression is my "drug of choice". Now, as a freelance writer and creative I understand why art requires bravery. There is nothing more frightening or invigorating than exposing yourself to an unfiltered audience.
I believe in the process of self-exposure whether pertaining to art or brand design. To take a thing and turn it around in your hand and find out what's missing. What it could become and where it could go.
To help people tell stories.
